OUR WAR VETERANS OF LAKEFIELD, ONTARIO, CANADA AND THE SURROUNDING AREA

The Lakefield District Historical Society honours and remembers all Veterans of War with deep respect and gratitude. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice are commemorated by name on the Cenotaph monument in Lakefield, Ontario.

Additionally, residents of Lakefield who served during WW2 are included in the WWII monument erected in 2024 in partnership with the Lakefield Legion, Branch 77. 

This website was created to bring their stories to life. It seeks to identify these individuals more fully and, where possible, to recognize those who returned home, sharing both their military service and personal histories.

The information presented here has been gathered from a range of sources, including military records, genealogical research, community knowledge, and contributions from family members. Many of the photographs have been kindly provided by families or used with permission from other sources.

The Veterans featured on this site are those connected to Lakefield, Ontario, and the surrounding area. Their inclusion reflects the currently available information, and this work remains ongoing.
